Nate Ethington is a self-taught artist working from his studio in Portland, Oregon. His professional background in the construction industry informs his choices in materials and techniques. Using layers upon layers of very thin paint to build his compositions, his work touches on themes of loss, hope, language, relationships, and conversations.

Artist Nate Ethington’s process is inspired by texture, emotion, and color with the medium he uses, often a combination of house paint, acrylic, spray paint, and oil stick on canvas or wood.
